The race will commence promptly at 10:30 am on 20th September 2009 at Federation Square in Melbourne, and will conclude at 2:00 pm at Federation Square on 20th September 2009.
At the commencement of the race teams will be given a list of cryptic clues directing them to a number of checkpoints in the inner city area. Teams will need to decipher the cryptic clues to determine where they are required to go. Teams may only travel to checkpoints by foot or by public transport.
On a team’s arrival at a checkpoint, one member of the team must take a photo of all other members of the team at the checkpoint by using a digital camera or a mobile phone camera. At the conclusion of the race, these photos will be verified by a Monash Golden Key Official as proof that the team made it to the checkpoint and will be used to determine the winner of the race
Upon solving a clue, the answer must also be written down in the space provided in the clue sheet. This sheet will need to be submitted with the photographs of the locations to ensure that the team did, in fact, solve the clue correctly.
You will be provided with certain items on the day of the event, including a map of the CBD, a list of instructions and the clues you must solve to win the race. There will also be limited catering on the day. Please remember to bring with you:
All proceeds from ticket sales will be doanted to Oxfam Australia in the hope that our contribution will help beat poverty. The more tickets we sell, the greater contribution we can make to this worthwhile cause.
